Main Characteristics of the Port of Arkhangelsk The total length of the quay area of the JSC "Sea Commercial Port of Arkhangelsk" is 3,3 kms. The quays make it possible to receive and perform loading operations with the vessels with the draft of up to 8,5 meters, which will increase in the future to up to 9,2 meters, and with the length of 175-200 meters. There are 57 units of crane equipment with the lifting capacity from 5 to 40 tons, floating cranes with the capacity of up to 100 tons. There are 94 forklifts made by "Kalmar", "Valmet", "Volvo", "Hyster" with the lifting capacity from 1.5 to 25 tons at the disposal of the port. For the last several years the port has increased the quantity and the quality of its technological equipment with new container trucks, forklifts equipped with spreaders, port tractors. The port with its technological equipment can tranship bulk cargo as well as piece goods with the weight of up to 100 tons, that makes the goods traffic universal. Warehouses are available for a wide range of goods. The total storage area is 292 000 sq meters, incl.: – indoor storage area - 40 000 sq meters The joint-stock company has three railway stations "Arkhangelsk-city", "Arkhangelsk", "Bakaritsa" of the Northern railroad that links Arkhangelsk with other Russian regions. |
